Who runs this site
Andrea Sosso, Turin, Italy. For any question about your data, write to andrea@sosso.me.
What this site is
Two static pages — the home page and this one — plus an error page for addresses that do not exist. There is no cookie, no form, no login, no account and no advertising. Nothing you do here is associated with you as an individual.
Analytics
The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookie and does not fingerprint your browser or device. It records, in aggregate: the page visited, the referring page, your browser and operating system, your country, and how long the page took to load.
The measurement script is loaded from static.cloudflareinsights.com. This is the only request the site makes to a domain other than its own. Web fonts and every other asset are served from this site precisely so that no further third party is involved.
What is stored in your browser
There is no cookie, but there is one thing this site writes to your browser: if you switch the colour theme, the choice is kept in localStorage, under the key theme. It stays on your device, it is never sent to the server or to anyone else, and it does nothing but draw the page in the theme you picked. Clearing the site data in your browser removes it.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare acts as data processor and keeps connection logs, which include IP addresses, for a limited period, for security and abuse prevention. See the Cloudflare privacy policy.
If you write to me
The only thing this site asks you to do is send an email. Messages to andrea@sosso.me reach a mailbox hosted on Google Workspace, which acts as data processor; they are kept for as long as it takes to answer and to have a record of the exchange. See the Google privacy policy.
Transfers outside the EU
Cloudflare and Google are United States companies, so part of the processing described above can happen outside the European Economic Area. Both are certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, and their data processing terms also include the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Legal basis and retention
Aggregate analytics and security logs rest on legitimate interest: understanding whether the site works, and keeping it available. Answering an email you chose to send rests on the same basis. No data is used to profile you, and none is sold or shared for marketing.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may request access to your data, its correction or deletion, and you may object to its processing. Write to andrea@sosso.me. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian supervisory authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
